OUR STORY
Doori meaning 'distance' in Hindi is a brand that was developed during the now long-gone pandemic with a sole focus on creating comfortable and functional masks— undoubtedly the need of the hour. Guided by a commitment to quality, sustainability, and the pursuit of elevating the everyday, we made the decision to shift focus to clothing; something our two founders have been unexplainably and excessively obsessed with all their lives.
All our pieces are designed, developed and manufactured in-house in our internationally acclaimed factories in Bangalore, quality and sustainability continue to be at the forefront of what we do and act as pillars throughout our processes, be it fabric selection and sourcing or even our packaging. Every piece is made on order, this helps fuel our journey towards being our sustainable best by minimising wastage in its various forms and simultaneously allows for us to continue keeping a close eye on the quality of each piece that we package and send out to you.
Our aim at Doori is to make everyday dressing fun and exciting— from fit to sizing to design, everything we do is catered around bringing our wearers sheer joy when they get ready and dressed in Doori. Our designs, simplistic yet versatile, from boardroom to brunch to vacation, you’ll want to take us everywhere!
Meet The Founders
GEHNA MANGLANI
Gehna has always been older than her years, she has always had a flair for entrepreneurship and thinking out of the box; this along with her discipline, attention to detail, and dedication have helped Doori scale to where it is today.
Her time at Parsons School of Design in New York taught her far more than just how, where and what to shop for and has transformed her into someone that is far more driven and focused with whatever it is she sets her mind to, irrespective of its size, importance or consequence.
This self-proclaimed homebody adores her sweatpants and baggy t-shirts but needs no excuse to dress dress up whenever she's "feeling it". Having struggled with finding clothes that fit well, fit right, and feel good, she decided to take matters into her own hands and simply make them herself. Her aim is to clothe everyone in confidence when they wear Doori!
NIHAL MANGLANI
Nihal grew up in Bangalore and has always felt he had a penchant for sports, fashion and traveling. The boy that most would say almost always had a football or a cricket bat in his hand completed his Masters’ degree in Banking and Finance at Macquarie University in Sydney. His constant need to channel his energy onto something, be it on the field or off it, set his entrepreneurial spirit aflame. Days of staying locked up at home have now made him a force to reckon with as he paces up and down the office, door-to-door!
